The New 2022 R-Series Subwoofers

Drawing from decades of Subwoofer engineering experience, the 2022 R-Series deliver deep, clean, accurate bass and feature Alpine’s HAMR Surround for maximum cone excursion, delivering tons of bass output. The new ceramic dust cap is lightweight and rigid, minimizing distortion. A larger motor structure ensures better overall woofer control for a clean, strong bass response.

New Motor Structure - R2-W8D2

The 2nd-Gen R-Series Subwoofers now feature larger, double-stacked magnets that provide more motor force for deeper bass and tighter cone control. An integrated Faraday ring reduces distortion for cleaner bass, while a Kevlar-treated cone ensures durability and reliable performance, even at high volumes.

Building on the legacy of the Type R platform, the 2nd-Gen R-Series Subwoofers deliver even more bass output and reliable performance, marking the next generation of Alpine sound performance.

Additional Reliability

A polypropylene/ceramic composite dust cap ensures rigidity and excellent internal damping to smooth out bass response and produce tight bass. Its high heat resistance ensures non-stop performance.

Flexible Application

Featuring Dual Voice Coils (DVC) with easy configuration jumpers, these subs offer flexible applications. The new “EZ-Change” twist-lock grille mounting system makes it easy to install or remove an optional grille without screws, providing extra cone protection.

Increased Accuracy

Alpine’s High Amplitude Multi-Roll (HAMR) Surround technology allows efficient air movement with up to 20mm of total cone excursion. This results in incredible accuracy and powerful bass output.

Sizes & Variations

The new R-Series subwoofers are available in 12”, 10” and 8” sizes, with both dual 2Ω and dual 4Ω impedance options.
